the pokemon tcg corner!

i've had a few pokemon cards since childhood. my mom opened a few packs from the late 90s and when she lost interest in them she gave them to me.
i started seriously collecting pokemon cards in april 2024. i had looked at card art before and thought about how cool it was, but i never saw the appeal of spending money on them and owning them physically; now i do because i have a weakness for shiny things and cool art.

being a card collector has definitely been an interesting experience for me. throughout last year and early this year (2025), my partner and i had spent a lot of time and money buying singles and packs. my partner played the tcg and was actually building decks, while i mainly collected full arts. however, changes to the tcg, our increasing resentment for the pokemon company and financial woes have caused my partner to bascially quit playing standard tournaments entirely and caused me to re-evaluate my relationship to card collecting.

and more simply put, i don't put nearly as much time or energy into getting cards because i have other hobbies now! i still keep up with tcg releases somewhat and while my collecting has slowed down significantly (for the better i think) my collection isn't going away! i hope to have a full list of all of my cards here soon.

i have over 1200 cards from base set all the way to the modern era.
